Symptoms: During operation, the pump head vibrates violently, pressure fluctuates wildly, water pulses and splashes, and there is severe abnormal noise from the machine. This occurs in both no-load and operational states, and is the most common and easily misdiagnosed fault in industrial and marine high-pressure washers.

 

Root Cause: Air gets into the pump chamber, causing cavitation. Air is compressible, while water is incompressible. The pump body continuously and alternately compresses the water-air mixture, causing high-frequency vibration and unstable pressure. Long-term cavitation will directly wear down the plunger, water seal, and pump valves, significantly shortening the equipment’s lifespan.

 

Main Contributing Factors: Air leakage in the inlet pipe, insufficient water supply flow, pipe bends and blockages, clogged inlet filter, excessive suction head, and air trapped in the pipes after new machine installation or shutdown.

- Pipeline Air Bleeding: Before starting the machine, do not connect the power/start the engine.
